Matt O’Donnell is a contemporary American artist. Living in Western Wyoming, where he likes to spend his time surrounded by nature. Many days are spent deep in the mountains, where he finds inspiration from the beauty of the natural world. The sound of wind in branches of trees, to the rush of a steep creek cascading down a rocky mountain. Watching the ravens play with each other in the air, and the Bison roam the sage brush.

Matt finds his inspiration from the natural world, but his art is modern in view. His artistic inspirations come from the expressionist paintings of Camille Pissarro, the sculptures of Richard Serra, the landscapes of David Hockney, to name a few. Matt also finds inspiration from the simple forms of rusted metal, and the aging of objects from time. At times, the process of creation is more important than the final outcome.

Bright vibrant colors on the canvas of a Bison skull, brings a classic Western image in to the new modern times.
